DIBP can be used as a plasticizer for PVC, with plasticizing efficiency comparable to dibutyl phthalate, though its volatility and water-extraction losses are greater; it can be used as a substitute for DBP. It is also used as a plasticizer for cellulosic resins, vinyl resins, nitrile rubber (NBR) and chloroprene rubber (CR). It is not suitable for agricultural film.
Supplied in galvanized iron drums or dedicated tankers. Store in a cool, ventilated and dry warehouse away from fire and heat sources, protected from sunlight and rain. Prevent violent impact and leakage during transport; handle and store as a general chemical.
